Turkish people
I couldnt miss the chance to write about turkish people, because they always surprise me. Firstly, I thougt that it depends on particular circle of people, but in fact it's about cultural thing I guess.
First thing that I notices was their atitude to me and to all foreign people. Turks are extremely polite, hospitable, kind and helpful. They will always help you, will pay for you, will support you. Unknown people can sacrifice their time, their money or some other material things for you. And it was a very pleasant surprise and discover for me. It is really easy to live here and to be a foreigner because ppl here will care about you.
The second thing is their efforts to achieve smth in life. They work really hard for it. Usually here people work 6 days in a week from 8 to 6, 7 (very often they stay at work even untill 9 pm). And nobody complains because they know that in order to have a happy family and life they need money. Life is quite expensive here. And of course people who have their own business work even harder (especially starters).
The third is their value of family. I admire it. Because for Turks family is the most important thing in life. I talked to quite a lot of people who have their own families already - wifes (husbands), children - and you cant imagine how strong is the pride in their voices, how strong and tender is a love to their families. And that's just awesome. When my colleagues at work show the pictures of their kids their eyes shine. And also each state and traditional holiday everybody goes to their hometowns to visit parents and grands ALWAYS.
The fourth thing is their irresponsibility, wrong priorities and delaying and postponing the important things. I cant say it about everybody (but mostly, at least ppl with whom I had a chance to live and work here) and I cant say that it is that bad trait, it's just what I and my friends onserved. They are never in a hurry, even about most important things. They can do some other stuff not paying attention to the urgent things that must be done asap. And I experienced and observed it many times, believe me. Sometimes they dont understand the responsibility that they have about others and how it can effect if the things are not done. They can wait for days and weeks hoping that the problems will be solved by .... (nobody knows by whom). Sometimes it is annoying, but sometimes it is good, because they have more relaxed attitude to life, I mean that they are not concentrating that much on problems (at least I guess so).
And one more thing if you want smth from somebody, if you need smth to be done that not depends on you but somebody local, you should be very patient and persistent. You should ask and remind like hundreds of times while you will get the expected result. And be ready for fluffy answers, not keeping DDLs and dealing with the stuff that is not important for you yet.
Yeah, that is how I see it now. And with all those things - minuses and pluses - I love Turkey very much, I admire Turkish people and definitely wanna discover it more and more.
